Same lessons. Same teacher. Same music first approach.
Ben Daw Music is a public music lesson provider serving students with and without developmental disabilities. When music instruction is included in an approved SDP spending plan, Ben can coordinate provider setup and invoicing with the participant's FMS.
For participants, families, Independent Facilitators, Service Coordinators, and Regional Center teams.
Individualized music instruction
Guitar, bass, keyboards, songwriting, musicianship, recording, and production
In person in Chico and online
The same public lesson program offered to every student, individualized to the person learning
Lessons can build toward rehearsals, recording projects, playing with others, open mics, and performances
Provider setup and invoicing can be coordinated with the participant's FMS. Billing administration is supported in partnership with the experienced billing department at The Music Connection Chico.

Ben Daw teaches guitar, bass, keyboards, songwriting, recording, and production in a comfortable, focused lesson space, and online for students outside the area.
Every student receives the same individualized instruction, adapted to how they learn best.
SDP participants receive the same individualized music instruction Ben Daw Music offers to the public.
There is no separate SDP curriculum. The lesson remains centered on the student's music, interests, learning style, and goals.
SDP changes how an approved service is arranged and paid for, not what happens during the music lesson.
Whether music instruction can be purchased through SDP depends on the participant's IPP, approved spending plan, applicable program requirements, and required provider documentation. Participants develop their spending plans, the Regional Center reviews them for program compliance, and the FMS handles financial administration and provider payment.
Lessons can build toward real musical experiences when they match the student's interests and goals.
Songs, technique, improvisation, rhythm, and musicianship.
Songwriting, recording, beat making, production, and original music.
Playing with others, rehearsals, open mics, recording projects, and performances.
These are examples of what music instruction can build toward. They are not separate SDP services.
A participant, family member, Independent Facilitator, Service Coordinator, or other team member contacts Ben. We talk briefly about the student's musical interests, lesson needs, and the proposed service.
Ben can provide current rates, lesson format, scheduling information, service descriptions, and provider documentation. If the service is included in the participant's approved arrangement, Ben coordinates the provider setup required by the participant's FMS.
Once the arrangement is ready, the student begins regular music lessons. Ben handles the provider side of invoicing and ongoing lesson administration.
